All our rooms at The Crown Hotel are spacious, comfortable, attractive, and all have full facilities. The hotel has 11 high-standard ground floor rooms, all of which are situated in an annexe away from the main road and separate to the main building.

The hotel boasts a beautiful timbered restaurant complete with a large open fire where we can cater for up to forty people. The Crown also has a smaller eating area which is separate from the restaurant and the bar which is ideal for small private parties and corporate functions for up to fifteen people. We can accommodate a whole range of group functions, from weddings to dinner parties or business luncheons and our accomplished chef is more than happy to cater for your needs and create a menu of your choice. On a daily basis an extensive bar/restaurant menu is run alongside a specials board. This is complemented by a broad choice of wines. The attractive bar and lounge serve a selection of traditional ales and bar meals. Cream teas and coffees are available all day.

There is a picturesque river walk 500 metres from the hotel. The Suffolk countryside has many places of interest, including the Sutton Hoo Anglo Saxon burial site, Minsmere Bird Reserve, Snape Maltings and the Aldeburgh Festival. Woodbridge is close to the river Deben where the Woodbridge tide mill can be found, and boat trips are also available.

From London take the A12 to Ipswich where you join the A14; follow signs on A14 to rejoin A12 towards Lowestoft. Take the first signpost for Woodbridge. In Woodbridge take B1079 towards station. Hotel is on your left 200 yards from the railway station.

The hotel owes its illustrious past to the long line of the Seckford family, and for over 520 years their heritage can still be appreciated. Throughout the hotel, the very best of care has been taken to successfully blend modern facilities with the hotel’s varied and regal past. Benefitting from its Elizabethan past, large quantities of oak was used in the panelling, ceilings, doors and archways, with intricate carvings depicting the history and splendour of its period. Little touches of history preserve its past with pieces of furniture that once graced Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. The panelled lounge of the hotel was once a great hall and in it sits the very chair where King Edward VII was said to have died. In truly unique surroundings, the courtyard leisure facilities are set inside a magnificent 1550's Tudor Tithe barn, which is adjacent to the hotel. Here you can enjoy the crystal clear waters of the large swimming pool and, for those who wish to expend more energy, a fully equipped and modern gymnasium is at your disposal. Take the a12 northwards then take the a1152 to Melton. In Melton, turn left at the traffic lights. Ufford Park is on the right hand side less than 1 mile from Melton. Alternatively, take the a12 southwards slip road signed 'Ufford & Melton' off of the a12. Take first right turn, the right again. Ufford Park is approximately one mile on the left hand side (Brown signs). If you are travelling from the M25, you need to take junction 28 onto the A12. Ufford Park is situated 60 miles from Stansted Airport and 50 miles from Norwich Airport. We also have a helipad available for visitors - subject to prior notice. Intercity line from London to Ipswich. Ipswich to Lowestoft line. Melton train station is approximately 1 mile from Ufford Park.
