By Car: From Heathrow: - Exit the airport onto the M4 and head westbound. - Exit at junction 5. - Take the B470 for Datchet. - At the first mini-roundabout, go straight on. - At the second mini-roundabout, turn right. - At the third mini-roundabout, bear left; the hotel is on the left-hand side opposite the village green. Limited parking is on the first left at the back of the hotel. Parking is also available at the other car park (first left after the level crossing). By Train: There is a direct train line from London Waterloo to Windsor Riverside station; alight at Datchet station. By Air: Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4 at Heathrow are 20 minutes away. Terminal 5 is just 10 minutes away.

Via the m4 - Exit the M4 Motorway at Junction 6 and follow the signs to Windsor Town Centre. This will take you onto an elevated bypass. Take the first exit off this road (Windsor Leisure Centre will be on your left). At the roundabout, take the first exit, continuing to follow the signs to Windsor Town Centre. Pass through three sets of traffic lights to the next roundabout (at the King Edward Court multi-storey car park). Take the first exit on the left. Continue under the railway bridge and follow the road around to the right (Brown's Public House will be on your right and the River Thames on your left). You will come to a pedestrian crossing and immediately after this turn left (by the Bel and Dragon Public House). This is a pedestrian precinct, and the hotel is on the left-hand side. Via the M40 - Exit the M40 at Junction 2 and follow the A355 to the M4 Junction 6. Then take directions from above. Car Parking - Car parking is available in the nearby Windsor & Eton Riverside Train Station Car Park.

We are within walking distance of Windsor Central station (to London Paddington) and 15 minutes by road to Heathrow. From M4 Motorway Junction 6. Come off M4 motorway onto A332 in the Windsor direction. At first roundabout, take the first exit into Clarence Road. Continue to the T junction at the end of Clarence Road and Victoria Street. At T junction traffic lights, turn right into Sheet Street, which immediately becomes Kings Road. Continue straight for approximately 300 metres on Kings Road. The Royal Adelaide is a blue building on the right hand side on the corner of Adelaide Square and Kings Road.

Windsor Castle, oldest of the Queen's 4 principle homes, was first built for William the Conqueror in 1070 but extensively renovated for Queen Victoria. The state apartments are sumptuously furnished and St George's Chapel, where 10 monarchs are buried, is an outstanding example of late 15th century architecture. Children love Queen Mary's doll's house and its everyday items miniaturised in meticulous detail. The town itself, located to the west of the castle walls, retains a Georgian character. The Savill Garden set in Windsor Great Park, is splendid in early summer when the rhododendrons are in flower. A footbridge across the Thames connects Windsor with Eton and its famous school, and downstream is the meadow at Runnymede, where King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215.
