All the charming and comfortable rooms are well equipped and individually decorated. Each room is named after a local forest and has pleasant views over the gardens. Fold-out beds for children under 13 years of age or full-size single beds for adults over 13 can be provided in the larger rooms at an additional cost.

The Forest Country Guest House offers both traditional freshly cooked breakfasts and vegetarian alternatives. All of the breakfasts are prepared using high-quality ingredients and organic and locally sourced produce is used whenever possible. Those with special dietary needs can be accommodated by prior request. Please contact the hotel in advance in order to inform them of your requirements, using the contact details supplied on your confirmation email. As well as a full traditional cooked breakfast, breakfast usually includes a variety of fruit juices, fresh fruit salad, a choice of cereals, toast, welsh cakes, butter and preserves. Coffee, tea and herbal and fruit teas are available to accompany your breakfast, and there is also a vegetarian option available For evening meals, the closest restaurant is the newly refurbished Kerry Lamb, just 1 mile away. There are also a number of restaurants in Newtown and its surrounding area. If you prefer to stay in then we may be able to arrange for an evening meal to be delivered from the Kerry Lamb. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring takeaway meals to eat in the dining room. The guesthouse can also provide children's early evening meals by prior arrangement.

Kerry is a small village in the Welsh Marches in Mid Wales. The area is breathtakingly beautiful, with wonderful valleys and hills to explore. There is plenty to see and do, including walking, cycling, horse riding and sightseeing. The area is also a popular spot for outdoor activities and adventure sports, including ballooning, paragliding, quad trekking, paintballing, carting and biking. The region’s magnificent scenery, challenging rock formations and mountainous terrain also make it great for abseiling, canoeing, caving and rock climbing. You could also enjoy clay pigeon and pheasant shooting or take advantage of some of the area’s magnificent golf courses. Mid Wales is a vast region, which offers a classic variety of golfing tests, suitable for players of all levels and you can also enjoy some superb scenery at the same time. Mid Wales also offers some great fishing, including fly-fishing, game angling, lake fishing and reservoir fishing. You could also hire a boat at the spectacular Lake Vyrnwy and fish for trout.

By Air: The nearest airport is Manchester Airport, which is one hour and 30 minutes’ drive from the guest house. By Train: The nearest main line railway station is in Newtown, 3 miles (5 km) away. Newtown train station offers direct links to several major cities, such as Shrewsbury, Birmingham and London. By Car (from Newtown): Kerry lies on the A489, the main road to Newtown. - Take the A489 and just before you enter Kerry, take the right turning by the small red postbox, sign posted Gilfach Lane. - Follow this narrow winding lane for approximately 0.75 of a mile (1.2 km), ignoring the Satellite Navigation system, if you have one. - You will pass a left fork and later a right fork after the bungalow; do not take either, stay on the lane. - The entrance to The Forest Country Guest House has black metal gates and is on the left-hand side, just past the brook.
