The Queens Hotel in Keswick has been fully renovated to modern day expectations, with service and a smile to match. Come and see why Keswick was voted top weekend get-away destination in Britain in 2003. At Queens you will find friendly and efficient service throughout the hotel. When you have no restrictions on where to put a building, you tend to put it in the best place; so when they were rebuilding the Queens Hotel in 1845, that's exactly what they did. Situated in the geographical centre of Cumbria, surrounded by the Lake District National Park and close to all the conveniences of the town, it is small wonder that the Queens Hotel has always flourished. However, location and good food by themselves do not create the perfect holiday. Neither do comfortable well-appointed rooms, which of course we have. It is the small things like a friendly smile, and staff remembering you from last time, that we at the Queens think makes the big difference. The lounge and breakfast room are non-smoking at all times.

Keswick Hotel - Hotel - Hotel information

Purpose built as a railway hotel in 1865, the Keswick Hotel opened its doors for the first time in 1869, swiftly gaining a reputation as the leading hotel of the Lake District. Many famous visitors have crossed its threshold over the years, the most memorable being Queen Elizabeth II in October 1956. Improved road links and the decline of local mining meant the railway ceased to function in 1972. However, the hotel purchased the old buildings and platform and continued to develop into the popular Lake District venue it is now. Whether a business traveller, mountain hiker, keen rambler or a lakes enthusiast, the Keswick Hotel is proud to welcome all. The comfortable lounge with open fire and well stocked bar is the ideal meeting place after a day spent exploring the delights Keswick has to offer. The Lonsdale Restaurant provides hearty Cumbrian breakfast and sumptuous 3-course table d'hôte evening dinner to tantalise your tastebuds using, wherever possible, locally sourced produce. Set in 4 acres of tended gardens and walkways, surrounded by the wonderful Lakeland fells, play a game of croquet or relax in the haven of tranquility on offer when you stay at The Keswick Country House Hotel.

Spacious station rooms have king-size beds, a welcome tray and complimentary dressing gowns. Junior Suites have a separate seating, with panoramic views of our gardens and the surrounding hills. All rooms are accessible by lift, however, there may be a number of steps to negotiate along the corridors.
