The bar has warm, red decor and serves real ales, wines, snacks and pastries. 24 hour room service is available. The conference facilities are comprised of the Two Rivers Suite and the Larkfield Room. The Two Rivers Suite can seat up to 80 and features its own toilet facilities, bar and entrance to a reception area. The Larkfield Room is a boardroom-style room suitable for up to 20 guests. Flip charts, an OHP, TV and monitor can be provided. In addition to these, the Ballroom can stage dinner and dances for up to 150 people. Wedding receptions are a particular speciality of the hotel.

Parts of the hotel’s building date back to 1206 when it was inside the original precinct wall of the Abbey. The earliest trade directory in which it was listed as a hotel was 1835, when it was known as the Beaufort Arms Hotel. The landlord at that time was for many years recorded as being the key holder and official guide to the Abbey. Although the hotel has undergone many changes throughout its history, in 2002 it was completely refurbished and renamed.

The hotel dates back to 1835 when it was a small alehouse known as The Carpenters Arms. In 1909 the building was renamed and extended to its current form.
