The Cranleigh has recently been purchased by a local family who have started to transform the beautiful 1890s property into a cutting-edge luxury guest house. They have just finished refurbishment of the reception, lounge and dining areas with detailed help from a professional interior designer. The results are fantastic and set a new standard for guest houses. With new luxury rooms and standard older rooms available, the property is perfectly positioned for exploring the area, and is within one minute’s walk of Lake Windermere and all the other facilities the village has to offer. There is free parking on-site for up to 14 vehicles, and the guest house has excellent leisure facilities located 200 metres off-site. Please note that we cannot accommodate children in an any of the luxury or superior rooms.

These fantastic rooms include all of, or most of, the following: 32 to 42-inch LCD TVs, goose-down duvets with pure cotton sheets, air spare baths, 17-inch mirrored TVs in bathrooms, DVD recorders, iPod docking stations, free internet access, designer Villeroy and Boch bathrooms, mood lighting in showers, heated tiled floors in bathrooms, bathrobes, quality towels and accessories and much more. Standard rooms are the rooms inherited when The Cranleigh was purchased. They are phased in for refurbishment during December 2008 and January 2009. Please check the photographs of the standard rooms. Whilst not to the standard of the new rooms, they are clean and tidy and in a great location. The hotel also offers a fantastic locally sourced breakfast using the finest produce, along with free use of leisure facilities located 200 metres away. Free parking available for up to 12 vehicles. The Cranleigh is licensed to sell quality wines, champagnes and locally brewed award-winning beers. Please note there is a strict non-smoking policy throughout The Cranleigh. By Car (from the South and East): - On the M6 turn off at junction 36 and take the A591 towards Windermere. At the large roundabout take the 1st left, B5284 signposted Hawkshead via Ferry and Crook. - Travel along this road for 6 miles, past Windermere Golf Club on the left to the junction of A5074. - At staggered crossroad turn right. The Cranleigh is 500 yards away on the left hand side. Directions from Scotland and the North East: - On the M6 turn off at junction 40 and take the A66 towards Keswick. - Take either A592 via Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass to Windermere, or continue along A66 to Threlkeld and turn left through St. Johns in the Vale to Windermere on the A591 via Grasmere and Ambleside. - At the junction of the A591 and A592 head south to Bowness Bay. - On entering Bowness you will see Costa Coffee on your right, turn left onto Kendal Road. The Cranleigh is 200 yards away on the right hand side. By Rail: - The nearest railway station is Windermere, 2.5 miles from the hotel. The main West Coast line station is Oxenholme which is 10 miles from the hotel. - There is a National Express coach stop at Windermere Station. - Taxis can be arranged from any of the stations or airports at an additional charge and booked via the hotel.

La duración de esta tarea depende de las condiciones climatológicas y por tanto no podemos establecer una fecha exacta de finalización. El edificio no será totalmente envuelto en andamios sino que se levantarán pequeñas plataformas que no obstaculizarán las vistas desde las habitaciones. La casa de huéspedes Elim House se construyó como casa solariega en 1849 y rebosa carácter. Conserva incluso algunas rarezas, como el establo en el que dormían los caballos que tiraban del carruaje del dueño. Algunas de las habitaciones están ubicadas en el edificio contiguo, un antiguo pajar que se ha restaurado y adaptado al siglo 21 con gran creatividad. Algunas presentan vigas y otras están situadas en el segundo piso. Atención: puesto que en principio no se construyó con el objetivo de convertirse en un hotel, la Elim House no dispone de ascensor.

Salga de la m6 en el cruce 36, siguiendo por la a591 hacia Windermere y South Lakes. Inmediatamente cuando esté llegando a Windermere incorpórese a la a592, siguiendo las señales que indiquen el centro urbano de Bowness. En la orilla del lago continúe pasando unos 300 metros del Steamer Pier hacia el Hotel Burnside, situado a su izquierda.

En el hotel no se pueden alojar niños ni bebes. Tampoco admite grupos grandes de turistas ni grupos de despedidas de soltero/a. Estancia mínima de 2 noches en fin de semana. Estancia mínima de 3 noches en festivos. No está permitido fumar en todo el establecimiento. Para realizar el registro de entrada después de las 21:00 horas, debe acordarlo con el hotel con antelación.
