As the hotel is owned by a temperance organisation, it is unlicensed and is one of the few completely non-smoking hotels in Bath, creating a pleasant atmosphere conducive to relaxation. Our impressive breakfasts have won the coveted Green Award for fresh local produce, and we are committed to using the highest quality ingredients and preparation methods for all the meals we prepare. Fair Trade products are used where ever possible. Evening meals are available to book in sittings at 18:00, 18:30 and 19:00. The early bird special is available at 18:00 and 18:30. Driving From the East and North exit the m4 at Junction 18. Follow the a46 towards Bath. After about 12 km take the a4 in towards the city for about 1.5km where you should turn left into the a36 towards Warminster. Drive about 500m until you reach a mini roundabout, turn right and take the next filter lane on the right which takes you into Great Pulteney street. The Carfax Hotel spans three houses, 13 to 15 in the middle of the street. From the South approach the City on the A36 and following signs for London and the M4. As you approach the city you will come to a mini roundabout with a park on yout left hand side. Take the left turning and drive for about 150m and turn right in the filter lane and you will be entering Great Pulteney Street. From the West. Take the A36 (lower Bristol Road)heading into the city. Continue to follow the signs for London, Warminster and the M4. Pass under the railway by Bath Spa station. Continue on the A36 and you will pass under the railway again. Once you have passed the Ayrlington and County Hotels on your left, turn left at the roundabout and follow the road into Great Pulteney Street. Turn left and you will see the Carfax Hotel in the middle of the street on the opposite side; numbers 13 to 15. By Train & Coach Bath Spa Railway Station and the main Bus station are about 15-20 minutes flat walk away from the hotel, and we would encourage you to take the walk as it passes the Abbey, the Parade Gardens and Pulteney Bridge en route. If you have heavy cases there is a busy taxi rank outside the train station which should cost you no more than about GBP 4-5.

Henrietta Street, on which The Redcar Hotel stands, was designed between 1788 and 1792 by Sir William Pulteney and named after his daughter Henrietta Laura Pulteney. Three Georgian town houses were first converted into a Hotel in 1949. As the property in the golden location, it was later sold to an organization owned by the famous entertainers Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck, who then spent a large amount of money extending and developing this fine hotel. All our bedrooms have en-suite facilities, hospitality tray and direct dial telephone. Conference rooms available for 2-70 delegates. Lounge and Bar on premises. The hotel is ideal for business or pleasure. Bath is famous for it's Abbey, Roman Baths, Pump Room, Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge and the Jane Austen Centre etc. Bath is designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. We regret that there is no lift at our hotel. We either require pre- authorisation of your card on arrival or full payment on arrival.

Mark Treasure, The Park's award-winning Executive Chef, has imported a Wood Stone oven to roast fabulous fish, meat and game in his open-plan kitchen. The Park is situated just off the A420 which runs from Chippenham to Bristol. Both courses, The Crown and The Cromwell, have their own distinctive character and are recognised as two of the finest in the South West. This 6252 yard par 69 course is rich in features with woodlands, lakes, inviting greens and well placed bunkers that require a 100% strategy. The Cromwell Course is the perfect combination of old and new bringing together the best of both worlds. This course boasts a wonderful setting with mature trees, streams, lakes and modern USGA specification greens. Gentle undulation fairways provide this 6246 yard par 71 course with excitement, reward and magnificent views stretching out across the Cotswolds. The manor can accommodate a wide range of gatherings, from training master classes, strategy meetings, regional conferences and annual board meetings. Filled with natural light, the rooms also boast free Wi-Fi access.

Those of the back of the building overlook Harington's Place.

The Park Resort is conveniently located just 4 miles north of Bath and 10 miles east of Bristol, just minutes from Junction 18 on the M4. The Park is situated just off the A420 which runs from Chippenham to Bristol. The city of Bath is over 2000 years old, and its fascinating Roman Baths are among the best preserved Roman remains in Europe. Bath Abbey is right in the centre of the city, and a few minutes' walk takes you to the Royal Crescent, the Circus, Pulteney Bridge and many other squares and crescents, all reflecting the elegance of the Georgian period. Visitors can bathe in the newly renovated Thermae Bath Spa, or enjoy the city's lively cultural scene. Bristol, 10 miles to the west of The Park Resort, is a large, vibrant and exciting city, where the picturesque harbour winds its way right through the city centre. Famous Bristol attractions include the SS Great Britain, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, At-Bristol, the Bristol Industrial Museum and the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum. There is plenty going on, with everything from exhibitions at the Watershed Arts Centre to opera at the Bristol Hippodrome and exciting theatre at the newly renovated Tobacco Factory. The Bristol Old Vic is the oldest working theatre in the country.

Exit the m4 at junction 18. Follow signs for Bath on the a46 for approximately 8 miles. Bear left at the bottom of the hill for the City Centre (a46). Turn right at the roundabout on the a46 onto the a4. Continue for approximately 2 miles, passing Safeway on your left - keep in the left hand lane once past Safeway. At the tall traffic lights, turn left off the a4 into Bathwick Street (a36) signed for Bristol and Exeter. Cross over the bridge and passed the fire station on your left. At the mini roundabout, turn right into Pulteney Road. Continue straight over the next roundabout. Turn right at the traffic lights, using the filter lane, into North Parade; The Abbey Hotel is at the end of North Parade, opposite the traffic lights. Bath is approximately 10 miles from the M4. The route indicated avoids the Bus Gates.
