Directions from M4 Exit M4 at junction 18. Take A46 towards Bath (approx 10 miles) At the bottom stay on the left hand side of the dual carriageway, and you will come to a large roundabout with traffic lights Take 1st exit left signposted to Batheaston. After several hundred metres you will pass the Wagon and Horses Pub on the right. Take the next right turn signposted to Bathampton. Have 50p ready for the toll bridge fee then stay on this road for approx 2 miles through Bathampton up to a T Junction. Turn right on to the A36 Warminster Road and you will immediately see Tasburgh House sign on the right.

From the m4: Come off at junction 18 and take a46, come off at Bath exit and at the roundabout turn left to Batheaston, hotel is immediately on the left. From Bath Train Station: Bath Spa railway station is only 7 minutes drive away and, if you do come by train, we will be happy to reimburse you for the cost of a taxi from the station to Bailbrook Lodge.

The Ashley Villa is located on the western side of Bath, 1.7 km/ 1.1 miles from the city centre. The local area offers a variety of small shops and businesses, several pubs, and a couple of restaurants are within a few minutes walk. Regular buses go directly from the guest house into the city centre. The Royal United Hospital is a 10-minute walk, and Bath Spa University is a 5-minute drive. Open top bus tours can be picked up just 10 minutes walk from the guest house. Use us as a base to visit Longleat, the Cotswolds, Bristol, Cheddah Gorge, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury, Wells and even South Wales. Bristol Airport is a 40-minute drive from Ashley Villa.

By Car From the M4 motorway: - Exit at junction 18 and follow the A46 for Bath. - At the 1st roundabout take the 3rd exit for Bristol. - Take 1st left signposted 'Park and Ride'. - At the T junction turn left signed Bath. - Continue past Lansdown Golf Club, Bath Race Course and Blathwayt Arms pub (on the right). - Turn right for Weston and continue following the road, passing RUH hospital on right hand side. - At the mini roundabout, turn left then immediately turn right onto Chelsea Road. - At the bottom of Chelsea Road turn right and Ashley Villa can be seen immediately on the right-hand side of the road after the pedestrian crossing. From the A36 (Warminster Road): - After the dual carriageway, enter Woolverton and after a sharp right-hand bend turn left onto the B3110 for Norton St. Philip. - Take the B3110 through Norton St. Philip, Hinton Charterhouse and continue for a few miles through a set of mini roundabouts. - Pass an Esso garage on the left and turn left for Bristol. - Continue thorough the next mini roundabout, following signs for Bristol (A4). - At the next main roundabout take the 3rd exit onto dual carriageway (A4 Bath) and follow signs for 'Park and Ride'. - Take the first left off the dual carriageway signed Bath, A4, Newbridge and Weston. - Continue over the bridge past 'Park and Ride', along Newbridge Road for around half a mile and Ashley Villa is on the left-hand side.

Breakfast, evening meals and traditional Sunday lunches are served by friendly staff in the dining room, which offers a table d'hôte menu for guests and non-residents. The evening meal is served every night of the week, except Sunday when we offer a traditional English roast lunch. As the hotel is owned by a temperance organisation, it is unlicensed and is one of the few completely non-smoking hotels in Bath, creating a pleasant atmosphere conducive to relaxation. Driving From the East and North exit the m4 at Junction 18. Follow the a46 towards Bath. After about 12 km take the a4 in towards the city for about 1.5km where you should turn left into the a36 towards Warminster. Drive about 500m until you reach a mini roundabout, turn right and take the next filter lane on the right which takes you into Great Pulteney street. The Carfax Hotel spans three houses, 13 to 15 in the middle of the street. From the South approach the City on the A36 and following signs for London and the M4. As you approach the city you will come to a mini roundabout with a park on yout left hand side. Take the left turning and drive for about 150m and turn right in the filter lane and you will be entering Great Pulteney Street. From the West. Take the A36 (lower Bristol Road)heading into the city. Continue to follow the signs for London, Warminster and the M4. Pass under the railway by Bath Spa station. Continue on the A36 and you will pass under the railway again. Once you have passed the Ayrlington and County Hotels on your left, turn left at the roundabout and follow the road into Great Pulteney Street. Turn left and you will see the Carfax Hotel in the middle of the street on the opposite side; numbers 13 to 15. By Train & Coach Bath Spa Railway Station and the main Bus station are about 15-20 minutes flat walk away from the hotel, and we would encourage you to take the walk as it passes the Abbey, the Parade Gardens and Pulteney Bridge en route. If you have heavy cases there is a busy taxi rank outside the train station which should cost you no more than about GBP 4-5.
