By Car From the M4 motorway: - Exit at junction 18 and follow the A46 for Bath. - At the 1st roundabout take the 3rd exit for Bristol. - Take 1st left signposted 'Park and Ride'. - At the T junction turn left signed Bath. - Continue past Lansdown Golf Club, Bath Race Course and Blathwayt Arms pub (on the right). - Turn right for Weston and continue following the road, passing RUH hospital on right hand side. - At the mini roundabout, turn left then immediately turn right onto Chelsea Road. - At the bottom of Chelsea Road turn right and Ashley Villa can be seen immediately on the right-hand side of the road after the pedestrian crossing. From the A36 (Warminster Road): - After the dual carriageway, enter Woolverton and after a sharp right-hand bend turn left onto the B3110 for Norton St. Philip. - Take the B3110 through Norton St. Philip, Hinton Charterhouse and continue for a few miles through a set of mini roundabouts. - Pass an Esso garage on the left and turn left for Bristol. - Continue thorough the next mini roundabout, following signs for Bristol (A4). - At the next main roundabout take the 3rd exit onto dual carriageway (A4 Bath) and follow signs for 'Park and Ride'. - Take the first left off the dual carriageway signed Bath, A4, Newbridge and Weston. - Continue over the bridge past 'Park and Ride', along Newbridge Road for around half a mile and Ashley Villa is on the left-hand side.

Set within a pair of large Victorian villas, this family-run guest house is beautifully situated in the heart of Bath, less than a 10-minute walk from all the main attractions. Breakfast, evening meals and traditional Sunday lunches are served by friendly staff in the dining room, which offers a table d'hôte menu for guests and non-residents. The evening meal is served every night of the week, except Sunday when we offer a traditional English roast lunch. As the hotel is owned by a temperance organisation, it is unlicensed and is one of the few completely non-smoking hotels in Bath, creating a pleasant atmosphere conducive to relaxation. Our impressive breakfasts have won the coveted Green Award for fresh local produce, and we are committed to using the highest quality ingredients and preparation methods for all the meals we prepare. Centrally located in the beautiful roman city of Bath, The Carfax has just 31 uniquely furnished and individually heated rooms, all of which are en-suite with either a bath or shower, or more often both.

Driving From the East and North exit the m4 at Junction 18. Follow the a46 towards Bath. After about 12 km take the a4 in towards the city for about 1.5km where you should turn left into the a36 towards Warminster. Drive about 500m until you reach a mini roundabout, turn right and take the next filter lane on the right which takes you into Great Pulteney street. The Carfax Hotel spans three houses, 13 to 15 in the middle of the street. From the South approach the City on the A36 and following signs for London and the M4. As you approach the city you will come to a mini roundabout with a park on yout left hand side. Take the left turning and drive for about 150m and turn right in the filter lane and you will be entering Great Pulteney Street. From the West. Take the A36 (lower Bristol Road)heading into the city. Continue to follow the signs for London, Warminster and the M4. Pass under the railway by Bath Spa station. Continue on the A36 and you will pass under the railway again. Once you have passed the Ayrlington and County Hotels on your left, turn left at the roundabout and follow the road into Great Pulteney Street. Turn left and you will see the Carfax Hotel in the middle of the street on the opposite side; numbers 13 to 15. By Train & Coach Bath Spa Railway Station and the main Bus station are about 15-20 minutes flat walk away from the hotel, and we would encourage you to take the walk as it passes the Abbey, the Parade Gardens and Pulteney Bridge en route. If you have heavy cases there is a busy taxi rank outside the train station which should cost you no more than about GBP 4-5.
