You will find a warm and personal welcome to the lush Somerset countryside at the Devonshire Arms, a grade II listed former hunting lodge, set on an idyllic village green.
Step inside and you will find an unexpectedly contemporary style. All bedrooms are individually designed with the finishing touches you would expect from a private hostel. Relax by the fire with a local ale or cider before dining from our locally sourced restaurant or bar menu. The perfect way to unwind in the evening.
There is a private dining room for different functions, and you can also drink and dine al fresco in our courtyard, large walled garden or overlooking the green at the front.

We can arrange golf for either party bookings or individual players at Long Sutton Golf Club, just along the road.
Clay Pigeon Shooting can also be arrange for a days shooting for individuals or a party.
The Somerset Levels are perfect for walking and cycling, with many paths and tracks in the area. It's a great opportunity to escape from the noise and bustle of city life.
Wells Street (Clarks Village), Taunton, Yeovil, Sherbourne, Shaftesbury, Bath and the coast are all within an hour's drive.
Travel information
The Devonshire Arms is situated in the heart of the Somerset Levels in Long Sutton, near Langport.
By car:
- Follow the A303 motorway to the Podimore Roundabout signs north for Langport along the A372.
- After around 4 miles turn left for Martock and Long Sutton.
- Turn right onto Cross Lane, where you will find the and free parking.
By train:
- Leave from London Waterloo to arrive at Yeovil Junction (10 miles from us) or London Paddington to Castle Cary (12 miles from us). Both journeys take around 2 hours.
By bus:
- You can take the 54A bus from Yoevil which stops in Long Sutton.
Important information
If you are arriving between 15:00 to 18:00, please call the Devonshire Arms using you booking confirmation details, to ensure staff is there to welcome you. Devonshire Arms normally shut during these hours.
Please note that for Weekends Bookings ( Fridays and Saturdays): cancellation need to be made 14 days prior arrival, so no fee will be charged. Any later cancellation or no show, the entire reservation will be charged.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.
